Marano Lagunare and the Shell Island

From Lignano with the Motorboat “Nuova Saturno”.

Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 2.30 p.m. to 6.00 p.m.

Marano Lagunare: a characteristic fishing village, in ancient times a Venetian fortress. Unique stop over at the “Shell Island”.

Marano Lagunare is of Roman origin and reached the maximum splendour in ancient times with the patriarchals of Aquileia. From 1420 to 1797 the village was a Venetian fortress belonging to the Serenissima as it shows its architectural construction. Here you can admire the millenary bell tower, the beautiful main square, the narrow streets called “calli” and the church, built in 1753. Very interesting are also the fish-market and the fisherboats fleet, one of the biggest of the region. On the way back, there will be a stop on the Shell Island. Natural barrier that marks the border between the sea and the lagoon, where you can admire the still wild beach, where numerous species of water birds come here to nest. It’s a wonderful excursion made for the enjoyment of adults and children.

adults € 24.00 | children 4-12 € 12.00 | children 0-3 free
